After Huawei, another Chinese company left Apple with a bitter taste

New research data from Counterpoint Research shows not very positive numbers for Apple in the billion-person market.

According to records from Counterpoint, iPhone sales in China in the two weeks from October 30 to November 12, coinciding with the time when Chinese consumers aggressively shopped for Singles' Day (November 11), decreased. 4%. During this period, Huawei impressed by leading the sales of 5G product series after 3 years, with an increase of 66% over the same period last year.

Xiaomi 14 is highly appreciated for its design quality.

Not only that, even Xiaomi increased its sales by 28% compared to the same period last year. Thanks to what these two Chinese manufacturers achieved, total smartphone sales in China during the November 11 shopping period increased by 5% over the same period last year.

As is known, the Huawei Mate 60 series has received a buzz in China, especially attracting customers who worship nationalism after they witnessed Huawei being able to circumvent US sanctions. The Mate 60 series is equipped with a Kirin 9000S chip with 5G capabilities and is manufactured using the 7nm process of SMIC - China's largest semiconductor factory.

Remember, due to the US ban, companies using US technology to make advanced chips are not allowed to ship such chips to Huawei. That's why Huawei's previous flagship models, last year's Mate 50 series and this year's P60, both came with a special version of the 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which is limited to 4G networks, not 5G networks. . This has caused many US lawmakers to dig deeper into how Huawei received the Kirin 9000S chip.

Mate 60 Pro is considered the pride of Chinese people before the surrounding ban.

In the Chinese market, the iPhone 15 starts at 845.27 USD, while the Mate 60 series starts at 774.82 USD and the Xiaomi 14 series starts at 563.49 USD.

Last year, Chinese e-commerce platforms Alibaba and JD.com stopped disclosing sales figures for the Singles' Day shopping period. JD.com has stated that the volume of Apple products sold on its platform during the 2023 shopping festival amounted to more than $1.39 billion. Meanwhile, Xiaomi said sales across all platforms during its shopping festival reached $3.16 billion.
